RFQ Checklist

high torque servo motor

Resolve whether a high torque servo motor request is a continuous-stall need or a short-duration peak before comparing quotations. A second decision is whether a dc servo motor line on the same brief means brushed construction, electronically commutated brushless hardware, or only the drive DC bus in VDC. Confirm motor, commutation and feedback compatibility before treating two replies as interchangeable. This checklist is a document-comparison aid, not an engineering or compliance guarantee.

Document comparison

Document comparison: Equipment scope

Place the motor drawing or process description next to the drive drawing. The RFQ should list inertia, acceleration, dwell, holding-brake function, encoder protocol and the DC link in VDC with an explicit sentence: drive bus, or brushed construction required. If the buyer wrote “dc servo motor” without commutation, stop and ask. Work envelope, footprint and three-phase supply belong on the same comparison when a cabinet is purchased with the motor.

Price exclusions

Gearboxes that create the high torque at the load, extra cable length, cabinets, installation, FAT witness, SAT, training and spare parts stay off the motor line until listed. Optional budget (currency, per-unit or whole-order) is a search hint, not a published saving. Connected load in kW and cooling water are requested only when those utilities are in scope. Tooling for the buyer’s fixture is a process cost.

Response basis

Each factory should attach the winding code, encoder support, peak versus continuous assumptions and a statement of what the DC figure means. If two quotations use different inertia or different ambient temperatures, they are not yet comparable. Engineering acceptance remains on the buyer–supplier contract. Read continuous versus peak and drive compatibility before signing.

Remaining input: quantity, destination, requested delivery window, FAT/SAT scope and supplier preference (premium, mid-range, budget-friendly, or not sure). Preference is a buyer selection, not a verified rating. PLC interface names for enable, fault and position should be written by the controls owner. Changeover between fixtures should list which cables and parameter sets are reused. Duty cycle at maximum ambient temperature belongs on the same sheet as the high-torque request.
